In Search Of Desi Cuisine

I don't know what possessed us, maybe it was the absence of the entire management from the office, but the lot of us decided to go out for lunch on a Thursday. The destination of choice... Zahid Nihari on Tariq Road.

We were going to do an entire nihari experience. Zahid Nihari has a pretty ok family room on the first floor where we sat, myself, Yasir, Nadia, Sherry and Mahreen. I'm going to guess that this was the girls' first experience of eating out of a steel plate.

The Nihari was fine, not very spectacular, but just ok. The experience of pouring out the oil, and eating with fresh tandoori nan, made it all worth it. Nadia had decided on having the chicken quorma and ate nothing but the chicken and some of the quorma leaving the rest claiming it was greasy.

She was absolutely right about the grease, in case you are wondering after looking at the picture, the grease did stick to the plate upside down.
