Hello Again Foodies!
This is one I just had to blog about!
Shazia suggested we order something nice, something Burmese... it took me a while to pronounce it right but it's called Khao Suey. Everyone said it was pretty good, skeptical, I gave it a go. Beef Khao Suey from a place called "Simple Dimple"
It took an hour to deliver the order, but it came neatly packaged and still hot, which is always a good sign. Being my first experience with Khao Suey I needed expert advice on how to recognize it and how to proceed to eat it.
Apparently, fried vermicelli and red chillies come seperately and are added to ones' taste.
The experts I was referring to, loved it so much they all just had to have a bite. I had to fight for my food, which was worth it.
It smelt a little like Daal at first but when mixed with the vermicelli and the red chillies came tigether very nicely with the beef and the noodles to make something that tasted a lot like Knorr noodles. It was actually pretty good and I would not mind having it again. The soft noodles, and the crunchy vermicelli and a nice combo. Same with the flavour of the chilli and the strong taste of the noodles and the beef.
It simply had everything in it meat, flour, seasoning, more flour and just a hint of lemon. I recommend that everyone try it atleast once. According to my friend Sani, the chicken Suey is supposed to be much better.
Since, I've never had Khao Suey before, I cannot compare it to other "Sueys", however, it was refreshing to have something unique that did not taste all that bad and coted only Rs. 200 for a tummy filling serving.
Suey to the music guys,
Z
